Many of
these worldly songs that these "Gospel" artists now put on their own
albums were specifically written by the original artists for use
during the above name wicked activities that we participated in
prior to becoming Christians. God, does not want these same exact
songs of Satan incorporated into his worship service.
To show you how confused the artist mentioned in the previous
paragraph is, let me share another concert he appeared in as one of
the featured guests. In his monologue prior to singing, this artist
said that people were complaining about him dancing (this artist
performs choreographed dancing during his shows). He went on to say
that if he could not dance in the church, he had no place to go but
to the clubs to dance. The phrase that occurs to me is "What Would
Jesus DO?" If his dancing is truly praising God, how can he
entertain going to the club and participating in the revellings that
occur in such places. Galatians 5:21 lets us know that we are not
part of God's kingdom if we choose to participate in the revellings
(wild partying) that occur in such places. To add insult to injury,
this artist began singing a song he produced and then once again
pulled a fast one by switching to a different song entitled: "One
Nation Under the Groove." In this switching to an old Funk song, our
artist does not even change the words to disguise selling of his
talents to promote ungodly music.
One of the top Rock songs of the past went something like:
If you think I'm sexy
And you want my body
Come on baby let me know
Again, I ask you WWJD (What Would Jesus Do). Would he take the exact
music and slightly change the lyrics to come up with a new Sunday
morning praise song such as:
If you think I'm Holy
And you want my Father
Come on baby let me know
I can tell you quite emphatically that Jesus would not do such a
thing. Neither should we prostitute our talents by pushing
Pop/Funk/& Rock songs originally produced to provide an atmosphere
for committing wicked acts.
"But when the righteous turneth away from his righteousness, and
committeth iniquity, and doeth according to all the abominations
that the wicked man doeth, shall he live? All his righteousness that
he hath done shall not be mentioned: in his trespass that he hath
trespassed, and in his sin that he hath sinned, in them shall he
die." Ezekiel 18:24.
"If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves,
and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then
will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal
their land." II Chronicles 7:14.
Sincerely,
Just A Brother
