Political Infatuation - 2

Political Infatuation - Two

In Political-Infatuation-One, we looked at the importance of our allegiance to moral principles as defined by the bible, over and above any commitment to political parties and/or particular politicians.

There is another caution I feel compelled to provide, associated with this same topic. The caution is that we should not even put all our faith and allegiance in a politician that professes to be a Christian.

Case in point, I would like to draw your attention to a particular politician who, as a US Senator, has been quick to speak publicly and vehemently against others who oppose her “righteous” causes that she supports. She has even openly vilified the President of the United States of America repeatedly on national television.

This politician professes to be a Christian, and has no reservations about going from church to church around the country asking God’s people to vote for her. This politician is purported to have lent great support to the Civil Rights movement throughout the years and is reported to be a friend of minorities.

Now, here’s where I am confused about this outspoken Christian politician, who is the “beloved” friend to minorities and the Civil Rights movement: This politician appears unwilling to raise one peep of protest against those who have participated in promotion of vile and ungodly endeavors when those individuals are willing to back her political campaigns. The letter below raises an interesting irony of the politician using a billionaire mogul of undesirable ethics to help publicly promote her campaign for the US Presidency.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

1. Senator Hillary Clinton
2. Mogul, Robert Johnson
3. OPEN SEWER

Of course you know who Senator Clinton is.

And, you may know that entrepreneur, Robert Johnson, so enthusiastically supported Senator Clinton that he applauded her work for civil rights, while airing dirt from the ancient past of her chief Democratic rival.

Here’s where I am confused:

Robert Johnson founded BET (Black Entertainment Television) which daily promotes the abuse and exploitation of African Americans.

Much of BET’s programming:

- portrays African American women and men performing degrading sexually lewd and pornographic acts
- portrays young African American men as hostile and violent
- portrays African Americans as greedy, materialistic, and money hungry
- portrays African Americans as ignorant buffoons

BET is little more than an open sewer perpetuating many of the evil fallacious myths about African Americans that have traditionally been promoted by racists of a lighter hue.

I simply don’t understand how Senator Clinton can be for civil rights and give the founder of an open sewer the honor of speaking on her behalf without asking him to go back and fix the sewer at BET.

Further, I am mystified as to how every television network I’ve watched over the past week has missed the irony I have touched on above.

Sincerely,
Just A Brother,
