Letters From Our Guests
Holy Ghost Baptism
Dear
Justabrother,
I have briefly reviewed your website. Nice job! I am a
Christian from Seattle and also a defender of the faith.
Since I was born again I have always been aware of the
deception of the "doctrine of man" rather than accepting the
Bible at its Word. The Bible is the one and only authority
regarding doctrine.
In reviewing your FART (which is crude, by the way, on a
website based on holiness) you play off the premise of the
world being flat and rejecting that argument. Again, nice job.
But I see that you may have fallen into the same trap as our
dear friends that described the world as flat. One of your
favorite verses is Acts 2:37-38 which clearly states in v.38
that you will receive the Holy Spirit when
you are born again. But on the page of "Doctrine Proclaimed"
you say that you believe that the Baptism of the Holy Spirit
is given to those who ask for it.
My brother, that is a man made doctrine that cannot be
supported by scripture without taking it out of context.
Without the Holy Spirit one cannot be saved. He is our seal or
surety to guarantee our salvation. How can the Baptism be a
separate event? Where do you find that in scripture that is
clearly supported without obscurity?
Please be sure that I operate in the gifts of the Spirit. I
Iook forward to your response. Please do not take this too
critically. If you knew my heart you would know that I am
trying to convey a spirit of gentleness and respect (mixed in
with some sarcasm). I applaud your work on your site but would
only seek to purify what is not correct. Please sit before the
Lord and ask Him about the FART acronym and how offensive that
could be to a 90 year old lady that is seeking to find God.
We should be about clarity and purity and I believe that you
should reconsider the statement about the Baptism of the Holy
Spirit.
He fills us when we ask but His presence seals us at
conversion.
