Letters From Our Guests |
CHRISTIAN FUNDRAISING
Dear
visitor,
In the correspondence below which occurred between
Holiness.com and a visitor, the approach that Holiness.com
takes in funding its endeavors is touched upon. This page is
by no means a reproach upon honorable non-profit organizations
who survive by donations. This page has, however, provided an
opportunity to touch upon strategies that Holiness.com does (&
does not) utilize in securing financial resources.
What follows is the correspondence between Holiness.com and a
visitor; but, before we proceed I would like to take this
opportunity to offer a gigantically big
"GOD BLESS YOU!!" AND "MANY, MANY THANKS!!!"
to all of you who have encouraged Holiness.com to go forward
and have stood with us financially by purchasing one of our
products. Whether you bought an auto mug, T-shirt, tote-bag,
golf shirt, or etc. Holiness.com THANKS YOU FROM OUR HEARTS!
Dear Sister XXXXXXX,
I would like to respond to your previous comments where you
wrote:
Hi Just a brother,
Just read your article on gambling and I could just shout
with
happiness when you tell us like it is. particularly when
you
talked about the church. You would never believe the
things I
get in the mail trying to get the people to match a
certain
amount so some anonymous person will give the same.
There is something else that bothers me.
I like to give money to good causes, but every time I do,
for
the rest of the year I get loads of mail every day asking
for
more. I think they tell everybody else about it. I get
so
much that I'm sorry I gave to anyone, and I notice that
the
ones that keep asking week after week are Christain "
families" I give to the Red Cross they sent a note of
thanks
and thats the last I heard from them. Now I want to feed
the
hungry and help the sick and do what Jesus has told us to
do
but, sometimes they make me feel so pressured because
sometimes I give beyond my means and get into trouble,
then I
get upset with the people and blame them instead of
myself
like I should.
I know my spelling was terrible the last time I wrote
but,
sometime I get so sick of things I don't care. I think I
was
born before my time.

[RESPONSE FROM HOLINESS.COM
FOLLOWS]
Believe me when I say that I understand your concern at
feeling
pressured by ministries to give to the point where you get
into
financial trouble. Yes, God sometimes asks us to give beyond
human
reason. However, on occasion, I believe that ministries are
using
extreme forms of psychological manipulation to induce
Christians to give
money. I heard a case of a woman who had a husband that was
deathly ill.
As this woman continued to send her money to this ministry,
the ministry
continued to mail her prophecies that the husband would not
die, but
recover from the illness. Well, to make a long story short,
this dear lady's husband died; yet, the ministry continued to
prophecy via US mail that the husband would not die, but
recover and live (even though he was already dead!).
Let me say right here, that Holiness.com does not use its
lists of visitors to solicit offerings. Neither do we have any
plans to solicit (ask for) monetary contributions in the
future, or to sell our lists of names to individuals who do
solicit donations of money.
