The movie is a dramatization of what happens when four fictional characters die. The movie focuses on four individuals who die and go to face judgement. One character is a Nobel Peace prize winner who has traveled the world brokering peace negotiations; another character is a serial killer; and the last two persons are two young adults who profess Christianity.

The dialogue that occurs after the individuals die provides an accurate depiction of what many think will get them into heaven - and this is what may cause some to rethink whether they are on their way to heaven (or on their way to that other place of anguish and eternal torment).
